Pioneer Australia Change of Direction

Pioneer announced in late 2014 plans to form an alliance with the Onkyo Corporation for their Home AV category. The alliance will see Pioneer become the third largest shareholder of the Onkyo Corporation. From March 2, 2015, Pioneer will integrate its Home AV business, including phone and headphone related business with Onkyo.

Announced today, Powermove Distribution, a leading audio and lifestyle accessories distributor in Australia have announced that effective March 2, 2015, Powermove will assume control of all contracts and inventory, directly related to Pioneer Australia's Home AV and Headphone business.

Under the new global direction set by Japan, Pioneer Australia will now refocus and re-energise every aspect of the business, including the company’s product portfolio, operations and distribution. This focus will concentrate on Pioneer's Car Electronics and DJ businesses, as well as look to grow its new Cycling Sports division.

“Whilst we remain realistic about the challenges that lie ahead, we’ve already taken critical steps towards carving out a new, prosperous chapter in Pioneer’s 50 year Australian history,” Masaki Takahashi, managing director of Pioneer Electronics Australia told StereoNET.

Powermove Distribution adds Pioneer to its existing portfolio of over 20 brand including including Klipsch, Philips, Soul.
