Legacy U.S brand Krell Industries has announced a new and radically advanced integrated amplifier that it says offers the latest in analog and digital performance, called the K-300i.

In 1999, Dave Goodman and his team released the original KAV-300i which stunned the world as a truly world-first high end integrated amp, delivering performance similar to separate components but housed within just one chassis.

Building upon the success of that original and iconic release, Krell have employed all they have learned to develop a new amplifier circuit design with Krell iBias technology that is said to deliver 150 watts per channel (8 ohms), and 300 watts per channel (4 ohms).

Krell says:

iBias provides the sonic benefits of Class A operation without the excessive heat and power consumption of traditional Class A designs.

A 770VA transformer with 80,000uF of capacitance forms a potent power supply for excellent signal control and dynamics.

Offered with or without an internal DAC, those opting for digital connectivity will find the K-300i uses an ESS Sabre Pro DAC configured for high current output. The network streaming renderer coupled with a dedicated mobile App allows for playback of AAC, ALAC, AIFF, FLAC, WAV, WMA and DoP files up to 192kHz/24-bit from UPnP music servers or NAS devices. The digital option also includes compatibility with Spotify, vTuner, TIDAL, Deezer, QuBuz, and is also Roon Ready and decodes MQA.

The Krell K-300i also features HDMI 2.0 inputs and output supporting 4K UHD and HDR, while a single USB port is available on the front to playback music from USB memory sticks.

Around back there are two pairs of analog balanced XLR inputs and three pairs of single-ended inputs. There are also 2 pairs of speaker binding posts naturally, along with a pair of single-ended outputs should you wish to use the K-300i as a preamp.

If you still can't find enough ways to play your favourite tunes, it also features a Bluetooth aptX receiver for pairing with your smartphone, tablet or computer.

The Krell K-300i is expected to be available in Australia around October/November 2018 and will sell for $6,500 RRP (Analog only) or $7,995 (Digital), in silver or black finish.
