MARK LEVINSON BRINGS ROON AND MQA INTO THE FOLD

Mark Levinson's highly regarded No.519 Audio Player just received a significant firmware upgrade that embraces both the MQA file format, along with Roon Ready certification.

The latest update means you can now browse, organise and listen to your favourite tracks, or explore millions more via TIDAL, and its library of MQA Masters tracks.

Via Roon's intuitive interface, you can also explore the bios, lyrics and even tour dates of your favourite artists. Roon is also a multi-room, multi-user networked audio platform, offering features such as bit-perfect playback, DSD and PCM upsampling, multichannel support, and Signal Path display.

The Mark Levinson No.519 Audio Player combines wireless and wired streaming from networked libraries and streaming services, a CD player, and connections for USB drives, digital audio inputs, and Bluetooth aptX.

The No.519 is also now fully MQA certified, enabling playback and authentication of MQA audio files and streams from TIDAL, Roon, USB drivers, DLNA, or MQA encoded CDs.

You'll never run out of content with the No.519 thanks to wide range of additional streaming music services including Spotify Connect, Qobuz, Deezer, and Rhapsody/Napster, although some services are not yet available in Australia.

The Mark Levinson No.519 was already a highly-regarded source as you would expect from this prestigious brand, but the latest firmware is an early Christmas present that gives more.

Available now, the Mark Levinson No.519 sells for $39,000 RRP.

    applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
