CAMBRIDGE AUDIO’S NEW STYLISH WIRELESS SPEAKER COMPLETES YOYO RANGE
British audio specialists Cambridge Audio complete its Yoyo range, with the addition of the Yoyo (L) wireless speaker. If you're wondering about the L, it signifies the innovative home audio hub's size.
The Yoyo (L) features a full range driver and subwoofer in each of the front, left and right sides of the product. Each driver also has an independent low distortion amplifier, all housed within a compact, stylish enclosure. The front-mounted drivers are said to allow for superior presence and staging, while the side-mounted drivers give wider dispersion and a “room-filling sound.”
To enhance the sound the Yoyo uses a Digital Signal Processor (DSP) running MaxxAudio, a suite of advanced audio enhancement tools from Waves. MaxxAudio offers clearer highs, enhanced bass and increased volume.
Wired connections for audio and TV include HDMI ARC, TOSLINK optical and aux connections, so most sources are covered. For wireless connectivity, Yoyo (L) offers Bluetooth and Spotify Connect, along with Chromecast built-in for seamless connection to your iOS or Android smartphone.
Conveniently, while 'casting' you can also continue to use your phone for other things while your favourite music plays on in the background. Or, play games, send texts, even pick up a call.
Also, the Yoyo (L) will learn your TV remote’s volume commands for seamless integration.
The British theme also extends to Yoyo (L)’s design which features bespoke, ‘sound-transparent’ British fabrics. The materials have been specially created as part of an exclusive partnership with British weavers Marton Mills, giving the Yoyo range a sophisticated, stylish look and feel. Marton Mills’ manufacturing process also includes the application of a NanoSphere® treatment, to ensure the cloth is both water and dirt repellent.
Available in Dark Grey or Light Grey, Cambridge Audio's Yoyo (L) has been designed for simple installation on a TV stand, shelf or sideboard, ready for use by the whole family.
The Cambridge Audio Yoyo (L) will be available in July for $599 RRP.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
