Bryston Mini and Model A2 Loudspeakers

Canadian manufacturer Bryston has recently undergone a change of distribution in Australia finding a new home at Busisoft AV. Good news is stock has now arrived and while the brand is predominantly known for their electronics, their speakers are certainly worthy of carrying the Bryston name too.

Designed and manufactured in partnership with fellow Canadian company Axiom Audio, Bryston says their state of the art loudspeakers “leave the listener in a state of what some refer to as “suspension of disbelief” as the playback system transcends the recorded medium and transports you to a live venue.”

George Poutakidis, CEO and Founder of BusiSoft AV told StereoNET:

Bryston's loudspeakers achieve high levels of SPL with virtually no distortion, unit to unit matching, and custom designed drivers and crossovers ensuring a superior sonic performance that one would expect from loudspeakers that were three times the price.

Three models are now available in the Bryston loudspeaker range.

Bryston Mini A Bookshelf Loudspeaker (RRP $1,799)

The Mini A Bookshelf loudspeaker is the baby of Bryston’s Model A line-up. It has been designed with cutting-edge technology which has been built to incorporate new driver designs, enclosure vibration analysis and crossover refinement that never fails to impress even the most discernible listener. It has a 6.5” aluminium cone woofer, 3.5” aluminium cone midrange, and 1” titanium dome tweeter housed in a slender rear-ported trapezoidal cabinet. All of the drive units are custom made to Bryston’s strict specifications. The Mini A is 15.5” tall by 8.5” wide and 8.25” deep. The non-parallel sidewalls are also designed to reduce internal standing waves.

Bryston lists crossover frequencies of 160Hz and 2.3kHz and offers a custom foam port plug to ease subwoofer integration or for near-wall placement. It is available in a standard vinyl finish of Black Ash, Boston Cherry and Natural Cherry.

Bryston Mini T Bookshelf Loudspeaker (RRP $4,999)

In selecting a tweeter, Bryston considered domes, horns, magnetic planars, ribbons, and ring radiators. In the end they chose a titanium dome because they found it offered the most natural sound while meeting their requirements for high power handling. It features a 1” titanium-dome tweeter, a 5.25” midrange driver and an 8” woofer. The award winning loudspeaker measures 22.5”tall x 10.5”wide x 10”deep.

This model is designed to offer everything the recording is able to produce, allowing for a reproduction not unlike the real thing, the 8” woofer allows for true bass response, normally omitted in such a small design. Mini T bookshelf is designed to deliver a sound which is powerful beyond traditional bookshelf standards.

Bryston lists crossover frequencies of 160Hz and 2.3kHz. The Mini T Bookshelf Loudspeaker is available in standard real wood finishes of Black Ash, Boston Cherry and Natural Cherry.

Bryston Model A2 Loudspeaker (RRP $4,299)

The Model A2 is a 39.5” tall floor standing speaker which shares most of the sonic characteristics that make the bigger brother A1 so remarkable, but offers a more compact and décor-friendly form factor. It has Bryston’s proprietary aluminium cone 5.25” midrange drivers and dual 1” titanium diaphragm tweeters which join forces with the company's newly developed high output, low distortion dual 6.5” bass drivers to produce very natural and highly dramatic audio reproduction.

It is available in the Vinyl Boston Cherry, Black Ash and Natural Cherry finishes, while also being available in Real Wood finishes for extra. Bryston's goal with the Model A2 loudspeaker is to provide a superior level of “disbelief” from the quality of the sound.

Available now, Bryston is distributed in Australia by Busisoft AV.
