Bryston BHA-1 (available now for $2,199 RRP)

Introducing the Bryston BHA-1 balanced headphone amplifier, an extension of Bryston’s unmatched audio performance and functionality. The BHA-1 Balanced Headphone Amplifier is Bryston’s reference amplifier solution for the finest listening experience from your headphones.

Allowing you to adjust everything with precision, the BHA-1 lets you listen to your music through your favourite headphones with complete control by using its high quality laser trimmed Noble stereo volume control.

The Bryston BHA-1 contains balanced dual mono circuitry, giving you supreme left and right separation and balance control while also boasting six fully discrete Pure Class A Bryston operational amplifiers. The BHA-1 has a gain from 14 dB to 20 dB, with 10 kohm input impedance. It also has the drive capability to power multiple headphones simultaneously.

It also features full pre-amplifier functionality for integration into your current speaker system, designed to control even the most demanding loads and power amplifiers.

When it comes to peripherals, the Bryston is nothing short of spectacular with its gold plated input and output connectors, with inputs including a balanced XLR Pair, single-ended RCA pair, and a 3.5mm stereo mini-jack for using your MP3 or digital music device. It is also adorned with a multitude of outputs, including a balanced XLR 4 pin stereo output, balanced XLR pair (3 pin left/right), and a ¼” headphone jack.

Bryston’s state of the art products also extend to the Bryston BDA-2 Stereo DAC. The Bryston BDA-2 delivers superb sound performance through re-sampling and re-clocking of the digital input signal.

The BDA-2 also features a new asynchronous USB input, which is capable of up-sampling your favourite track to a resolution of 24 bit/192 kHz!

With the BDA-2, you will have no connectivity issues, offering multiple options for plugging it in and playing your favourite tracks. Its inputs include a USB class 2.0, 4x SPDIF (2 BNC, 2 RCA), 2x optical (TOSLINK) and a AES/EBU input. For outputs the BDA-2 boasts an RCA single ended, XLR balanced and SPDIF bypass (RCA) connections.

Bryston’s BDA-2 comes with either silver or black faceplates and available in 17” or 19” faceplate options.

If you are serious about sonic performance, there is one thing you should never have to do and that is compromise on sound quality. With the Bryston BDP-2 digital audio player you can now have a dedicated player for all of your digital audio files with high-resolution formats.

Included is a new proprietary Integrated Audio Device card, which has been created in-house to provide even better performance, integrated output and sound processing, and is powered directly by a high quality linear power supply. With ease of use taking centre stage, you can control the Bryston BDP-2 via your portable devices such as an iPhone, iPad, Android OS, Mac and PC.

Powered by a modified Linux operating system, the BDP-2 has been optimised to provide the highest quality audio performance possible. With plenty of playback options, it supports USB flash drives, as well as USB eSATA hard disk drives (HDD) and Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices. 

It will effortlessly play high-resolution audio files up to 24 bit/192 kHz (by using an external DAC) from digital storage devices without compromising on quality or performance. It also boasts an improved power supply (delivering over 5 amps), custom Intel Atom powered motherboard, additional input options, and eight times more system memory than its predecessor, the BDP-1.

The BDP-2 is available with either silver or black faceplates, with 17” and 19” faceplate options, 19” is also available with and without handles to suit your individual requirements.

Bryston 4BSST2 (available now for $6,499 RRP)

The Bryston 4BSST2 Dual-Channel (Stereo) Amplifier is the perfect set up for use in professional studios and domestic Hi-Fi systems alike. Users of this system range consist  of major TV networks, national radio stations and Hi-Fi users.

With a design philosophy that ensures sonic superiority, the 4BSST2 comes packed full of features and boasts both balanced and unbalanced inputs, selectable gain at 23 dB (or 29 dB) and a bridging switch that configures the amplifier into a single 900 W Channel (at 8 ohm), for use in mono-block mode.

Incorporating an innovative gain stage topology, the Bryston 4BSST2 yields a substantially lower noise floor through the use of low-impedance pathways within the amplifier, which also has strong advantages in reducing overall distortion and making your listening experience more accurate and enjoyable.

It is available with silver or black faceplate options, as well as a 17” option without handles or a 19” option with and without handles. With no fans or other moving parts, the 4BSST2 uses passive convection cooling and is housed in a fully aluminium chassis.
