B&O’S BEOVISION HARMONY OLED TV HAS A BUTTERFLY EFFECT

Milan Design Week is an incredibly apt event for Bang & Olufsen to unveil its stylishly folding Beovision Harmony all-in-one OLED TV and speaker system.

Yup, you read that right. The Beovision Harmony folds away when not in use.

There is a three-channel speaker system, housed in oak and aluminium that conceals the Harmony’s 77-inch LG OLED C9 television screen when not in use or just listening to music.

When you want to catch up on your boxsets, however,  the attractive wooden speaker panels fan out like butterfly wings while the screen raises to ideal viewing height.

John Mollanger, B&O’s Executive Vice President of Brand and Markets told StereoNET:

With Beovision Harmony, we wanted to create a meaningful object for the interior that reduces the visual presence of the TV and transforms it into something that people develop an emotional attachment to.

The panel is from LG, and so sports LG’s webOS 4.5 smart apps, such as Netflix and Amazon, as well as AirPlay 2, Chromecast and Bluetooth.

Additionally, the built-in 7.1 surround sound decoder and B&O multi-room capabilities mean that you can connect up to eight of the company’s Beolab speakers for quite an impressive surround system.

Beovision will appear in Bang & Olufsen stores from October - Australian and New Zealand pricing have not yet been confirmed but overseas prices start at €18,500. You get a choice of an oak wood and aluminium style, or a “Grey Melange” fabric and aluminium look. Finally, you can have it on a floor stand or wall bracket.

Bang & Olufsen will feature at Milan Design Week from 9th to 14th April as part of the exhibition 93 years of magic: a dialogue between past and present.
