Australia’s First Hi-Res Music Store Launches

OpenLIVE, Australia’s first Hi-Res Music download store has launched today offering a vast collection of music at a minimum of CD quality.

Launching with over 1.5 million tracks, OpenLIVE says their store will be updated regularly over the coming months, reaching over 2.5 million Hi-Res Audio tracks. The music catalogue delivers all of the original information of the master recording, with OpenLIVE stating that “fans will hear the music as the artist originally intended”.

Dale Moore, Chief Executive Officer of OpenLIVE told StereoNET:

We’re very excited by the launch of our download store. Hi-Res digital music files are not readily available in Australia and we believe it’s important for people to have the option of choosing Hi-Res over MP3.

Simon Tait, Chief Technology Officer continued:

The depth, feeling and sense of realism can be heard, and felt regardless of the type of music. It’s not just for classical & jazz aficionados, it’s genre agnostic and this is borne out by the sheer number of Artists who make their catalogues available in Hi -Res formats.

In a bid to be unique in their offering compared to other online music stores and streaming services, OpenLIVE has also developed exciting new technology in the live music space that will result in a growing collection of live recordings being made available to fans. When implemented, any band or Artist playing in OpenLIVE enabled venues will have the ability to capture, archive and release their live performances with just a few clicks via the OpenLIVE website.

OpenLIVE's mission is simple; invigorate the live music scene through the creation of a growing pool of live music.

OpenLIVE is now online and you can visit their website at
