Audeze EL-8 Headphones
Audeze, maker of highly acclaimed planar magnetic headphones, announced the new EL-8 headphones at the recent CES in Las Vegas.
With industrial design by BMW owned DesignworksUSA, the EL-8 headphones have been made available in both open and closed-back designs.
Exclusive, elegant, ergonomic, flexible and portable, are just some of the words used by Audeze to describe the new EL-8.
Audeze EL-8’s patent-pending Uniforce diaphragm employs an industry first – variable trace widths in the voice-coil to effectively capture variations in the magnetic field within the magnetic gaps by equalizing the forces of the individual traces, creating a uniform driving force across the entire diaphragm surface. This, according to Audeze, results in dramatically reduced distortion, higher resolution and improved imaging.
Using patent-pending Fazor technology, integrated into the EL-8, a number of benefits are realised including extended frequency response, improved high-frequency extension, and lowered distortion, with better imaging. Fazors are special acoustical elements positioned on either side of the magnetic structure. They enhance transparency by affecting the sound waves generated by large planar diaphragms.
Audeze EL-8 headphones combine legendary styling with the world’s most advanced planar magnetic technology, delivering the ultimate listening experience. Audeze EL-8 will be available end of March 2015 for $999 RRP.
Audeze is distributed in Australia by Busisoft.
