One of the hottest streaming music components for 2018, Bluesound's Node 2i, will receive another functionality boost on December 11th, 2018 in the form of Apple AirPlay 2, complete with Siri voice control and Apple Home app compatibility.

It doesn't stop there, as all Bluesound owners (along with NAD and Dali BluOS users) will be prompted to update their players with the latest version of BluOS, but those with generation 2i products will see the addition of AirPlay 2.

Gen 2i users can then stream music services, podcasts, audiobooks, movies, games, YouTube audio, TV sound and stored music from their iPhone, iPad, or Mac computer to any Bluesound Gen 2i player on the same WiFi network. The integration also gives Apple Music listeners the ability to control playback on their Bluesound Gen 2i using Siri voice control.

Bluesound Apple AirPlay 2

The highly capable BluOS platform allows seamless and intuitive control of all your Bluesound products throughout the home. The addition of AirPlay 2 will enable users to integrate the power of iOS devices with Bluesound products.

Bluesound 2i players can also be added to the Apple Home app. This enables touch and voice control of all HomeKit, AirPlay 2 and Bluesound 2i products from the convenience of just one app. But get this, you can set a 'scene', which can be activated with a single tap or voice command, and magically your blinds can close, the lights will dim, and your favourite playlist will start playing. George Jetson would be in awe.

Multiple Bluesound Gen 2i players can synchronously play the same stream, or users can opt to push different content to individual players around the home.

Using the BluOS Controller app, previous generation Bluesound players can be grouped with a new Gen 2i unit, allowing them to play the same AirPlay 2 streamed content.

The BluOS update will be released December 11th, 2018, opening up a world of endless possibilities to conveniently integrate music with your life.
