NO LONGER AVAILABLE: FS: Naim CDS3 CD Player and Naim XPS2 Power Supply

Recommended Posts

Item: Naim CDS3 CD Player with dedicated Naim XPS2 Power Supply
Location:
Vic, Melbourne South
Price:
$6500
Item Condition: Truly immaculate, always kept in a dedicated music room and doted over.
Reason for selling: I have moved to a full streaming solution
Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, EFT, PayPal

Delivery Options: I would prefer pickup as the XPS2 especially is a heavy beast. However I can post at the buyers cost as both items have their original boxes.

Extra Info: For a long time the CDS3 was Naim’s top of the range CD player and the XPS2 is its dedicated power supply. The combination is one of the best CD payers ever made.

What HiFi summed up their review with “Overall, we have no doubt this is one of the best CD players money can buyâ€. You can see the full review here - http://www.whathifi.com/naim/cds3xps2/review

The CDS3/XPS2 combination is very analogue sounding, smooth yet detailed and dynamic. I still have not bettered the sound quality of this player even with my latest streaming components. As a two box standalone solution I think this player is very hard to beat. Both units are extremely well built, and have been 100% reliable.

The serial number of the CDS3 is 202xxx and it dates from 2004, it has both RCA’s and DIN outputs and plays all CD’s, HDCD’s, and CDR ‘s.

The XPS is the later version that comes with the better sounding black Burndy cable. Its serial number is 279xxx and it dates from 2009. It doesn’t have the latest Discrete Regulator (DR) fitted but it can be upgraded if required.

Both items come complete with all their original boxes, packing, accessories, transit screws, remote, instructions leads etc. etc. plus I will also supply a couple of spare brand new pucks for the CDS3.

I am genuinely sad to be parting with this player and I sure I’ll regret it like I do selling my vinyl. However with the money I’ve spent setting up my music server needs must :(

Please let me know if you need any more information

I have one of these.  Even though I don't use it, I dare not sell it.  It is one of the best cd players out there. Try to keep it if you can. Not many out there for sale.

Good luck with the sale.   Very cheap.  New XPSII will set you back over $7K
