This often cops a pasting, as it was pretty much past the end for Pink Floyd, but it was my introduction to them as a 10 year old, and is still a regular on my playlist.
It’s fantastically mastered, and there’s some real thought provoking stuff in there.
Not Now John is the only real outlier on the album, and the sax break on Gunner’s Dream is fantastic.

All Floyd fans feel free to disagree vehemently, haha.  I’ll keep listening.

Bought from Concerto records in Amsterdam (that is one damn fine way to lose money).  And the Rostropovich is from the Philharmonic Hall Berlin - that is a great music venue 1) acoustocs 2) great music selection.

Actually, on returning I must say that I have noticed that the smoke in the air in Amsterdam seems to be of a completely different character to that in Sydney. 🤔

Hi All,

I was in Aldi after golf this morning and saw some LPs, as they were only $14 I decided to purchase a couple, I have given them a wash and am waiting for them to dry before listening.

I posted this recently on the Vinyl Currently Spinning thread...

At the risk of sparking up the Aldi/Reject Shop debate, I picked this up a couple of days ago at The Reject Shop for $20...

Ramin Djawadi - L'Orchestra Cinematique  'Game of Thrones'  2019 Khemko, UK. MusicBank.

803148025_RaminDjawadi-LOrchestraCinematiqueGameofThrones2019KhemkoUK.MusicBank_800.jpg.72ae9b62534721fd3715f6b0ec2cc12e.jpg

1 x black and 1 x picture disc.  Compositions by Ramin Djawadi, Chelsea Joy Wolfe and George RR Martin.

The second, black vinyl sounds pretty good, but needed a glue clean, still a couple of clicks and pops.

The picture disc, sounds good but quite crackly even after a glue clean, playable and enjoyable, but I wish they had two black discs.

The 50th Anniversary In The Court Of The Crimson King, King Crimson, remastered by Steven Wilson

The 50th anniversary double vinyl edition of In The Court of the Crimson King features Steven Wilson’s new 2019 stereo mix on the first record with the alternate album with tracks mixed by Wilson and David Singleton. These are pressed on 200g vinyl and have been cut by Jason Mitchell at Loud Mastering from original 24/96 high-resolution source files.

Maria Bethania - Mangueira : A Menina Dos Meus Olhos.

Just released so I might have to wait a week or two until it's available from the usual sources.

Having played it twice I agree, quiet, no hiss or clicks, a good presentation, well worth the $14 or so that it cost.

This arrived today, will give the 2 LP a clean and have a play later.

Yesterday's arrival ...DG's New "Complete" Beethoven.  In recognition of 250 years since Beethoven's birth.

1068651487_IMG_0792(2).thumb.jpg.675e311f886fb6a22352c8eb17fc629a.jpg

This collection is interesting as for a number of Beethoven's works they have curated multiple different recordings/performances which they claim to explore the variety of interpretation of LvB's output, and have chosen to license recordings from other labels in some cases to make their comparative point.  Sounded quite interesting

From Amazon Aus it is about $530 (blah)

From Presto Classical it is about $405 (Presto are doing discounts off boxed sets) but the shipping ended up being about $120 extra (also blah)

So I tried Amazon US.  Which I thought we could not order from any more.  But apparently we can. For some things it seems.  Crteria unclear to me. But for this, $383 inclusive of shipping and GST.  That's only $3.12 per disc :) .  Deal.

I understand there is also a quite attractive new Naxos "Complete" collection for Beethoven's 250th birthday.  Which i have seen for $195.

Serendipity doo dah  :)

I've been trying to get a hold of this for months. A very difficult prospect getting it on disc. Voila! Not only do I finally get a hold of one in mint condition, it's also signed by Yamandu.

Yamandu Costa - Recanto.
