This thread needs more Luxman

Prophetic is what you are @Luc Lee..........   I reckon both Lindsay and I should blame you for jinxing us into spending more money..   Newly arrived (today) matching Luxman SACD Player from

Big black meters:     Silvery-orange mteters:     White and green meters:

Not too many of these floating about these days. Crap ph pic from a few years back. But this was/maybe still is a smashing deck with it's little  pre amp in it. It's better than(OMFG..I'm about to commit a sin and will need to do penance but...) anything Sansui did imho and this was the middle model from memory. The big girl was the T-5 I think and this still brings good money in the US where they like the brand.IMG_1780.jpg

@@skippy124 -- Wow!  those Yamaha amps look awfully familiar..... :D I still reckon that LED conversion you did on the 810 is your best work. !!

Yes, two of them should look very familiar and agreed, that 810 was the best, might have been the color temp of the LEDs used

Looks great awty. Can one actually buy vu meters new or do you need to source them from other units..

Thanks

Yes there are heaps of different types on ebay. http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/Electronics-/293/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=vu+meters&LH_PrefLoc=2

You just need the meters, the right module and correct power. You can buy the basics for around $50 all up. I like the look of the tube VU meters, might try one one day.
