That does it for me, stunning in sound and looks without looking completely OTT and ridiculous like some of the other "mega tables" l love the clean lines of that $10k Thorens you just posted too Sheds, modern but retro.

Cheers,

Nothing wrong here:

Teres 360

Teres360-room7030.jpg

Teres-room7030.jpg

I posted this the other day in TT porn thread.

Pictured here with Schroeder & Morch UP-4

Platter apparently weights ~30kgms & entire rig ~85kgms.

Price unsure?

Indeed very tasty. ;)

Nostro,

Scary. I just had that particular model (slightly different photo) ready to paste into the thread and noticed your post. What do they say about great minds...? :o

And the Teres Certus Model 460 with matching Gibraltar stand (as you have illustrated) sells for US$25,500 or $18,500 without the stand.

Gotta be the wood grain 2sheds......and a bargain too it seems. ;)

Now I wonder what the cost of freight out here would be? I might just have to wait to get the arms & cartridges of my choice, but in the meantime it will be a pleasure to gaze at.

Nostro,

Yes, a relative bargain when you compare it to some of the steel and perspex monsters....

I'll have one of these, please....

with one of these...

And a Garrott Decca.

In the mean time an old Rock + Excaliber +Denon 103 will have to do when I drag it out of storage soon, and I finish the Garard 401 project with an SME 300 arm.

Nakamichi TX-1000 (Long out of production)

Nakamichi's engineering marvel which mad records sound wonderful by centring the to within 0.01mm, improving the sound, particularly pitch. Details here. It cost $7,500 when new ( a Rega Planar 3 was around $300)

Those Yorkes are very nice ... if i'm not mistaken, Mikey Fremer used to have one until he upgraded to the Continuum.

Yes, I agree Keith. In the style stakes they would have to be pretty close to the top of the tree. And they apparently sound very, very good.

at a quick glance i thought it said 'vulgar' ... wouldnt have been far off the mark:D

Ohhh - unkind, Grifter :o I liked the fact that these guys (Italian company) tried to put a little (OK - a lot ) colour into the dreary silvers and perspex which dominate todays designs. Maybe in the pool room...;)

There seems to be a problem with one of your posts 2Sheds, the SL-1200 Mk2 isn't loading

Darn, I thought I was covering up my bias against Direct Drives, Asteroid ;) If you have to go direct drive how about one of these....

l-07d-h.jpg

Kenwood L-07D One of the greatest direct drive turntables ever made.

Pioneer Exclusive P3 In 1980 this was the finest Japanese turntable available.

Then again @ ~80K The Blue Pearl Audio JEM TT is quite a reasonable rig. :o

More scrumptious pics of this TT here:

http://www.audiofederation.com/hifiing/2007/CES2007/report-1000/high-end-audio/the-show/part4/index.htm

Plus you'll find some other great pics of TT's but also plenty of other gear.

This isn't too bad either:

Sorry, Nostro - to me that Vyger looks like a cross between a thermo nuclear device and an ashtray ;) Definitely not my cup of tea....:D

Pioneer the best Japanese TT in 1980, what about the Micros? Wait a minute, that thing does have more than a passing resemblance to a Micro Seiki.

DS

DS,

The pinnacle of Micro Seiki turntables came a couple of years later, I believe (LZ 1T and SX 8000 II). And the Pioneer weighed in at a rather healthy 49kg. Even the tonearm seems to have designs on the Micro Seiki MAX 282....I would not be at all surprised if there was not collaboration between the 2 manufacturers

Likewise.. very hard to go grey if you are an eggshell blonde:D

Nope.. completely free of Nakamichi turntables ;).. does a brochure for the TX1000 count??? about as close as I'll get ..Like most of what has been on show here.. waaayyy out of my price range.. especially as I will have to pay using the south pacific peso very soon :o

Prefer my Garrards in anycase :D... I have a fondness for hulking great turntables with lotsa strobe markings.. makes 'em look techo :D

TT,

Sounds like something Mrs Sheds said to me recently... :o

I reckon the Goldmund T5 still looks remarkably good (I'm not a fan of perspex). And I reckon you could pick one up for a darn sight less than the $300,000 asking price of the latest Goldmund...

cheers
