I have a vortex playlist on spotify thats full of old Dimmu, a bunch of Borknagar and Arcturus. Mans a legend. I have a few Borknagar CDs, no vinyl, but my CD player is waiting for a new laser so streaming will have to suffice for now.

Yeah, he's a top vocalist with a distinctive voice....they had to use a full choir on follow up albums and still couldn't replace him!!
GaryT
Slowing things down. Honestly is this even considered metal. it's closer to blues than anything. Also, one of my favourite pieces of album art by Arik Roper. Shame the artwork is hidden on this limited edition. GaryT
Continuing metal week with: This Godless Endeavour by Nevermore. RIP Warrell Dane. BuzzzFuzzz
Someone posted this recently... I scrolled back a few, but couldn't find it. KISS 'Psycho Circus' aif. My first listen... and yeah, not bad eh? Would have been cool to have the full band back for all tracks... but great to hear Ace and Peter again.
Soundscape
Winter, Into Darkness. The heaviest album ever recorded? What have we learned since 1989?..... Svart reissue, excellent sq. Very quiet mastering insists on open gain. Zero attenuation for best results

blackangus
Streaming this now. These guys are total Godflesh worship - streetcleaner and self titled only I reckon - with a little of the first Pitchshifter ep thrown in (which was also total Godflesh worship) I have some mates who feel they would rather just listen to the real thing, fair enough, but I love these guys. So I think if you are a fan of early GF then check this out. Their first album/ep is sick AF also. My thinking is that Justin didn't pursue this brutal knuckle dragging style since the very early 90s

GaryT
Alright, doomy stuff. This is a band whose sound just works, imagine if Sleep was fronted by K.D. Lang. Not exactly but it's the best way I can describe them. Windhand - Soma
Monk
Doom and sludge, I'm in! @Darren69 do share... New discovery to me this afternoon. Storm of Void. Japanese duo. Kind of metal... kind of rock. But heavy enough that all is right with the world. https://stormofvoid.bandcamp.com/album/storm-of-void
