In wall speakers and bass extension.

Hi all,

With a bit of a redesign of the kids lounge lately, I will be building a small stud wall to hide all cables, mount the Telly, put some in wall speakers in, and also have some inbuilt shelves for the gear to live in

I have just recently bought these, for a reasonable price.

The wall will only be just over 100mm deep, just enough to get the speakers in.

My question is, can I expect to get any more bass from these speakers by using the wall as a sort of box?

Also would trying to add a port of some description add to the bass output?

I will try to add pics as the build is done in the next few weeks.

Cheers Dave.

Do exactly what the manufacturer says.   If the driver is suited to ported (super unlikely), then they ill make this clear.

More likely the driver is suited for an enormous box = the wall cavity ..... or a smaller sealed box (and they will tell you the volume to use)

Have almost finished the wall and built in shelves.

The speakers, tv and stereo gear is in. The bass from these is pretty good. Have added a Sunfire sub mainly for movies. Wish I could have had more space to spread the speakers apart. I think that they would be really good another metre apart. They have a directional tweeter which is good also.

Sorry for the crap pics.

Cheers Dave.
