The Sunday night ambient now spinning thread

A subscription to the Folk Reels label ... £5/year for 71 back catalog albums plus whatever else is released in the next year. A lot of very textural and droney stuff, focusing on tapes.

Subscription is under "Digital" not under "Subscription". Meh.

Various Artists - DiN Mix Two -- second in this series showcasing the music of the DiN label. The blurb states that the album is "purely ambient tracks with no percussion or rhythms. [...] an amazing 2 hour sonic journey from blissful pastures through other worldly sonic landscapes and experimental tone colours". Featuring the usual label artists and also Scanner, Tetsu Inoue, Robert Rich, Radio Massacre International, Bluetech. Includes the individual tracks plus a 2 hour mix. "Name Yer Price" lossless download from Bandcamp.

Hammock - Undercurrents -- I purchased the Hammock discography on Bandcamp recently, and have been playing one album per day. Today's pick is this collection of 12 long-form tracks, totalling about 4 hours. There's still that mix of gentle post-rock and ambience, though more understated than their usual euphoric cinematic approach. Noice.

Hi All,

Manifolds by Arjen Schat

Notes from Bandcamp by the creator:

The album and track titles were inspired by various two-dimensional manifolds represented in a three dimensional space. A transformation that, from my perspective, is a good analogy for the way that my music transforms from a few notes in a straight line to a complex pattern where the notes move in every direction, but maintain their harmony.

Taylor Deupree - Mur -- latest release on Dauw from master masterer and ambientologist Taylor Dupree (of 12k label fame). This is 'electro-acoustic' meaning environment noise (creaks, hiss, etc) gets as much emphasis as the lonely piano chords. "Name Yer Price" lossless download from Bandcamp for a limited time.
