I’m the second owner of this preamp and have owned it for at least 6 years. The first owner purchased the unit new at a cost of $7600 from the Australian distributer on the 23rd June 2001 and was only used sparingly used on weekends. The CAT includes a phono-stage with a collection of loading plugs to change the MC cartridge loading, original manual, purchase invoice and original box in good condition. Cosmetically the preamp is in excellent condition and includes another complete set of tubes as shown in the photo that I sourced from Ken Stevens the owner of CAT at a cost of $500. The preamp works flawlessly and has only been used sparingly also as I have a few preamps that I tend to rotate. I have been given an ultimatum to start selling gear as I have taken over the second living room. There are plenty of reviews and information on the web with regards the CAT and any inspection is most welcome. The TVC Bent Preamp will be next on the market followed by the Einstein Phono-stage. Please note that the preamp weighs around 32 kilograms and will not be cheap to ship within Australia. The Symposium platform is not included with the sale.
