keyse1
Pete And Arlo Live I never owned this one but I had the one before it Sold it off all those decades ago and greatly regretted it later Over long periods of time your liking for records come and go Almost all the records I sold off had to be replaced by CDs the point being just because you stop listening to some records or genres is no reason to sell them because at some point as you get older you will want to own them again wonderful instrument the banjo

On the country/bluegrass front- the highlights this year were Tyler Childers, Mike and the Moonpies, Town Mountain, Po Ramblin Boys, Garrett T Capps, Courtney Marie Andrews.. Last year was Paul Cauthen, Charley Crockett, Colter Wall. All worth looking up. (Nathaniel Rateliff had Luscious and Preservation hall Jazz Band join him on stage. Lots of fun.
MoveD
From the new single, Sturgill Simpson seemed to have moved further and further away from his High Top Mountain & Metamodern Sounds days. emesbee
I posted briefly about this album, and the other two recordings by these guys in the 'currently spinning' thread, but didn't think of this thread at the time. I bought this album a few years ago, but I sort of forgot about it for a while. I dug it out recently for another listen, and was blown away by how good it is, have no idea why I neglected it for so long. Have been playing it quite a lot over the last couple of weeks. I used to be someone who thought he didn't like country music. Well, that may still hold true for some styles of country music, but I think this has real integrity. My attitude to country music has definitely changed over the years, and I no longer have a stereotyped view of it. Unfortunately, their albums must be out of production, as people are asking eye watering prices for them. Check out the listing on amazon.com.au for this album, and try not to fall off your chair! Two of my favourite tracks, but its a hard pick, there no duds on this album.

It is a very good album, but I'd be amazed if anyone would be foolish enough to pay that much. I bought my copy online several years ago at normal prices. I did recently across a copy in a 2nd hand rack for around $5, at one of those 'music palooza' sales that are held here from time to time. I also picked up their other two albums in a clearance rack at JB Hi-Fi for under $10, so its worth keeping an eye out.
