att23
Quite a concept... not sure if I can sense the sailing/ocean/aquatic vibe, but definitely enjoy the music.

att23
The music is incredible indeed. Pity there isn’t really any reissues with good SQ in any format... Edited February 10, 2019 by att23

Think they have lost the master tape since the 70s. I have tried and refunded two different 180g vinyl already and ended up just settling for CD... Edit: I should say perhaps if I spend $$$ for original pressing, maybe will have some luck. Edited February 10, 2019 by att23

jazzdog@groovemasters
The Modern Jazz Quartet, The Sheriff. Atlantic (pressed by Festival Records Pty Limited Australia) AL-931,280 Mono. Check this out @t_mike & other MJQ fans, an Australian Mono pressing of The Sheriff, that I found last year. The cover is for the stereo pressing (SAL-931,280) & they have just crossed it out & written Mono. One side is stamped 'sample not for sale', so used for promotional purposes. There were some other unusual things with some of the other records in that batch, including a trad jazz band's test pressing, which has what I think is Sonny Rollins playing on one side instead! djmt
A nod to three of my favorites; Stanley Turrentine, Grover Washington and Charles Earland. He's got Christian McBride and Joey DeFrancesco along for the ride and they do them proud.

RankStranger
my on-ramp to the bad plus and still my favourite album of theirs. Discovering it felt like hearing nevermind or Blood sugar sex magik for the first time when I was 14 - totally new and exciting and opening up a whole new world of possibilities.

mrbuzzardstubble
You heard it here first. A new album from David Torn with Tim Berne and Ches Smith. Released on March 1st. Edit: I just found this teaser on the ECM youtube channel. With Sun Of Goldfinger, David Torn returns to the ECM label in a trio, alongside alto saxophonist Tim Berne and percussionist Ches Smith. The trio features alone on two of this album’s three intense tracks (all 20-plus minutes in length), while the third showcases an extended ensemble with two extra guitars, keyboards and a string quartet. An otherworldly creation, ranging from hovering atmospherics to storming, sky-rending grandeur, available in a CD in jewel case with card cover.
