Opened a delivery I received just prior to Xmas.

Purchased from@maggie

First up is John Coltrane Quartet - Ballads.

Not heard any of the purchased releases before. Very glad I took the plunge.

Have to shout out to Dave@maggie for the exceptional care taken with packing.

A fantastic album. Both in sq and tracks. Very happy.

I think I've selected the correct discogs release. These were all Japanese pressings.

My first foray into McCoy and really enjoying the laid back style.

I came across Irreversible Entanglements mid last year on bandcamp....put it on my wishlist after a listen, and promptly forgot all about it. Last night I found and played it on Tidal, and have since ordered a vinyl version. It features the spoken word output of MC, poet and sound artist Moor Mother (aka Camae Ayewa).   At work at the minute but am playing a few tracks via Youtube. Here's a taste: https://youtu.be/A2i9I9oSZ24?list=PLc-lMXAGqwPUxVfJfK0K3XS2yxrL6umzp                                    a3667562036_16.jpg

Dave Liebman Quintet - If They Only Knew

David Liebman, t and s sax

Terumasa Hino, trumpet and fluegelhorn

John Schofield, guitar

Ron McClure, acoustic bass

Adam Nussbaum, drums

I remember seeing Dave Liebman play with pianist Richard Bierach at Wollongong Art Gallery (the old one on Keira St) back in about '84, and have since been impressed by the work of both artists. This album continues that impression.

Ralph Towner, Jan Garbarek, Jon Christiansen, Eberhard Weber

Pat Metheny's favourite ECM disk. Brilliant musicians and superbly recorded.

The GREAT Bill Evans. Peace piece in particular.

Sounds really interesting,  huge respect for Pat Metheny. Since ecm released a mid 70's recording of Keith Jarrett two years ago I wonder how many gems they stil have yet to release. I'm going past Readings tomorrow so I'll try to buy it,  oh Garbarek is on the Jarrett album I mentioned, can't remember the title. I may have to take a punt on the Bill Evans as well.

This one's a gem if you get a chance to audition it.

I must admit, it's getting a little tiring flipping these 10" records so often. Oh well...

Woody Herman - Sequence In Jazz

Another brilliant British pressing of the era.
