An Illustrated History of High-End Audio

Recommended Posts

Announced at CES this year, I've just received stock of The Absolute Sound's Volume 1 - Loudspeakers. This first batch are numbered to create a truly collectable book.

"This 320-page deluxe hardbound book is nearly the size of an LP cover and is richly illustrated with rare archival photos of the company founders, their workshops, and early products. In addition to in-depth profiles of major manufacturers, we’ve included shorter pieces on many other companies that helped shape the high-end industry, as well as new TAS commentary on the most influential loudspeakers of each era. And to make the book truly definitive, we’ve added a series of features on landmark technological developments, trends, and the overall history of high-end loudspeakers."

That's a great price considering its $170.00 US with postage to Australia.

Well done Cameron.

FYI I'm now all sold out - and this was the only shipment of numbered books available. So there will be more stock in about 2-3 weeks but will be unnumbered.

And for the record only a dozen of the numbered books were brought into Australia so congrats to those lucky ones who have a collectable now!

So Cameron, make my wallet cry, how many volumes are predicted?

I'm not sure at this stage. I'll see if I can find out - apparently one of the volumes will include cables. Not sure if I should hold my breath for the phone to ring or not - Krispy Kables on the cover?  :D
