mrbuzzardstubble
Bobby Beausoleil's version of Nature Boy. Yes THAT Bobby Beausoleil and it's pretty good.
LHC
The song is a classic, but its sound and orchestration may not be 'timeless'. Is a modern cover possible without spoiling it?

In fact I found another of their albums in the stash. Every time I give it a listen it reminds me of Mi Sueño, an album of boleros by BVSC member Ibrahim Ferrer.

Interesting history, and as you suggested, the Cuban Bolero has a direct link to Los Tres Diamantes and other Mexican artists, through the songs of Mexican composer Maria Grever. According to Wiki, the Cuban Bolero is at the root of many popular Latin styles e.g. the rumba, mambo & cha-cha and probably many others. It's even taken hold in Vietnam! Very cool.
