DoggieHowser
Just started watching this series and it's been pretty good so far. Great characters. The story follows a Harvard drop out and his hot shot lawyer mentor in a NY law firm. I don't find the legal aspect of the show to be as good as Boston Legal or more recently, The Good Wife but the characters and stories are very compelling. And if that's not enough one of the lead characters is an audiophile. Sorta. He has a VPI Classic turntable and a tube integrated amp in his office with a rack of records on one wall. The turntables get upgraded to Oracles in Season 3 IIRC. I've discovered some pretty amazing records from the show. Chet Baker's rendition of Blue in Green was not something I had heard before. mrdave
Love the show. Love that Harvey is a music nut as well as a smart arse. However, the mind boggles as to why he's using contemporary Klipsches. I'd have thought that they'd be quite honk-y for the sort of stuff that we're lead to believe that he prefers (heavy on the horns).
DoggieHowser
Yeah, it is a pretty underwhelming Klipsch Reference bookshelf compared to the otherwise excellent set design. More here http://insidetv.ew.com/2011/08/18/suits-harvey-spector/ I guess Oracle saw the value of product placement so in S3... http://www.oracle-audio.com/?action=event The Oracle Delphi MK VI and the Oracle Paris have been selected to be part of the set decoration for the season 3 of SUITS in Harvey Reginal Specter office ( Paris turntable ) and in his condo ( Oracle Delphi MK VI ) ...Gabriel Macht portrays Harvey Reginald Specter, a corporate lawyer at Pearson Hardman who graduated 5th in his Harvard Law School class and is now New York City's best closer. He is promoted to senior partner in the pilot episode and serves as Mike's seemingly selfish and uncaring mentor, who is slowly revealed to care deeply for his people. He is formerly an Assistant District Attorney. He remains emotionally distant from clients and is willing to do anything, except alter the truth, to win a case. Little is known about Harvey's family. Harvey father passed away five years to the series when he was promoted to junior partner. Harvey has a brother who is similar to Mike in habits, which adds to Harvey's protective instincts toward his associate. Harvey hasn't spoken to his mother in years. Also love the movie quotes/references throughout the show. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P23ki9Hk9iU
DoggieHowser
Watching Season 2 Episode 14. Litt walks in to Harvey's office. He's playing a jazz record by Lee Fields and Litt asks: Kenny G? Hilarious!

progladyte
Just finished Seasons 1 &2 of this rather excellent show. As we don't watch much commercial TV and are sick of the crap reality shows on all the time, it was good to sink our teeth into something a little different to the normal drivel. This had our immediate attention right from the get go. Great character developments throughout the series. Louis is such a jerk but is probably the best actor out of all the cast. Rachel is so hot and Donna ain't half bad either. It is a fast paced series with lots of sub-plots and scenarios with plausible outcomes. Looking forward to some more. wim
It's an enjoyable soap and I'm waiting its return. Mostly for the one-liner movie culture references. Louis is played by the best actor in the show. I'd wager he put on weight for the role and they deliberately dress him one size too small for the clothes he wears. Donna is a fantastic character well played. Very likeable. Hawt. Rachel - I can't get past the overuse of mascara on her character. Spider eyes. Although he is presented as one of the two main characters - Harvey plays foil. He's the spindle on which the rest of the show revolves, and as such there's not much depth to him. The Ortofon 2M Red seems a weirdly uninformed choice to me. The music used is superbly in sync with the show's style. Kudos to the person who sources the tracks as I don't think they've dropped the ball once. Season 1 Episode 1 01. The Airborne Toxic Event - Changing 02. The Veils - Grey Lynn Park 03. wim
@@progladyte Thanks but I can only take credit for my opinions - not the tracklist. I went looking for an official OST a while back and was surprised to see there wasn't one. A fan has compiled songs in to a torrent for seasons 1 to 3. A quick google search brings it up easily enough.
ben54b
Just got back to this show last night after months off it while we did all of game of thrones and the last season of sons of anarchy. We stopped about halfway through season three and I had forgotten just how funny Louis is. And I was wondering what the gear in Harvey's office was. Thanks for the heads up.
