I've never used one, but could be a simpler solution for you - especially if you're streaming music to it (though it has a HD so perhaps the music is stored there?) cam your the man ! the $30 display from hong kong arrived but didnt even work ! what a waste of time. but cam your idea of using remote app on the iphone/ipad to control the apple tv worked a treat even my wife is amazed as can control it from her iphone anyways am very pleased with end result of apple tv feeding the 2ch setup with iphone giving full album art and control at finger tips have about 200 cds loaded on the apple tv, but might take the movies and photos etc off it and keep it music only.
