Just received our first batch of Line Magnetic integrated amplifiers, first cab off the rank, the LM-805IA. Wowwee! What a stunning performer and the stock photos we saw do not do the products justice! So beautiful to look at and even the straight-of-the-box sound is sensational!

From RF Waves? Chamila is a great tech. First one of these valve amps I think I've seen on this thread.

yes from Chamila,RF Waves, excelent person to deal with. There is a review on TEKTON DESIGN Perfect set 15 speakers in Product Reviews and opinions, doogie44  who reviewed the speakers uses one of these amps, rates it highly compared to line magnetic amps and others, interesting read. Lots of info on DIYAudio about tube rolling with this amp

I have built the TU-8500 valve Pre, great unit and is currently driving my First Watt M2X diy clone amp.

Shame the valves are inside the case.

Some headphone goodness for you - Cayin HA-300B. I'm using Sylvania GTAs instead of the Shuguangs in the photos.

Hey @deanB as we are just in the burn-in phase the only speaker we have tried so far is the Vienna Acoustics Beethoven Grand Reference speakers - a beautiful combination!!

Another reason is its a tank to move - 45kg!

How weird is that? I was just checking out those VA on Audio Active (half price) 2 minutes ago.

Don't try to lift the 805 on your own, the downsides can be catastrophic. Possibility of a life changing back injury or even worse, a badly damaged premium valve amp.

The Grand Reference are a new model - I think the ones on AA website are Beethoven Grand which are coming to end of life (if such a thing exists for a speaker). VA speakers are vastly underrated.

As for moving the amp, I think @Line Magnetic Australia would be more concerned with the fall out of an amp drop than my poor back!

It's quite a mission to unpack one on your own, I can attest!

Suffering for one's art?

@Frank Prowse Hi-Fi Gotcha Mark, hence the run out prices. VA have long winded names.

I can also verify that he does good work. Recent job he did also had a terrific turn around time.

Trying some PrimaLuna branded KT120’s for the first time tonight in the PL instead of the trusty KT150’s that I have enjoyed in it so much. I have always found PrimaLuna branded power tubes to be superior to many other aftermarket tubes and as these tubes warm up I would have to say they sound very nice indeed, still 20 minutes of warming up and listening isn’t enough to make a final decision.

I recently swapped out my favourite Tilburg 12au7’s in the two centre spots to hear how some Mullard CV4003’s sound in their place.

Hi there, sorry but my amp was a custom build with hand wound transformers so you won’t find one. It’s approx 7 years old and I’ll never sell it as I love it so much.

It’s a minefield getting things built but the results can be magnificent.......

Thanks for the reply......

The person or guys who built it for you - are they not in business ?

Have you heard about an amp called Tatksuki TA-S01 ?
