I have one spare EH 6H30, can send it to you if you like if you wanted to source a second one.

Thanks, but I haven't been interested in the EH types and the Sovtek's in my amp will likely out last myself.

Sovtek 2A3, on a SunAudio, maybe i should try to upgrade with better ones even though i still love their sound.

Snap! 😉

My SV-2A3....IMG_2717.JPG.9d488829d7658978f8699d7dba0283a0.JPG

Re, substitutions, if it is like my amp, the Sun Audio circuit shows the Sovtek 2A3s set up to run at around 18 watts dissipation - which is higher than RCA specif.

Sovtek 2A3s are generally regarded as being designed for higher plate voltages than NOS 2A3s.

Although some say that NOS bi-plate 2A3s will handle more than the 15W RCA max specif.

However, I think you could have some fun trying different 5U4 rectifiers and/or 6SN7s

Toma Audio in Tweed Heads are listed on Sun Audio's Japan webpage as being Aus agents.

http://www2.big.or.jp/~sunaudio/dairiten_e.html

I can confirm that the SV-2A3 sounds surprisingly good for what appears to be a fairly common schematic.

However (i) first 2 stages are direct-coupled (ii) it employs all-Tamura transformers.

(Digressing sorry....) the really interesting Sun Audio amp is the interstage-coupled 300B Push-pull model that was praised by the late Harvey Rosenberg yrs ago, but that does not appear in their catalogue anymore it seems.

Hate to say it, but that looks to be a 'clone' (which is not to say that it is not any good but...) - at a glance, transformers are not Tamura, unpotted PSU choke, Shuguang tubes, different internal build....

Good price however.

I only did a quick search so no idea. Lots of clone in China for sure. For the price, good for a toy to try out I think.
I know price from taobao is close to half cheaper than you buy from Ebay for example. If anyone is serious, I wouldn't recommend to buy from taobao...
