Some of you may have heard Sydney siders gleaming with praise over the Vivid Light (and colour) Festival.

Photo I took last weekend on the PhotoDay Around the World walk.

BUT, was your camera set on Vivid Light (and colour)???

too funny, yes it was lol and a very timely question

Vivid Festival is about lights and colour, but with the festival drawing in about one million people over the 18 days. (and every single one of them has a camera)

The challenge is to try and take photographs with a point of difference to the many, many great shots already on the web.

So I thought to try and capture one or two in Black and White even thou Vivid is about colour.

Opera House with a tile looking projection on it's sails and appears to be floating on the harbour.

Guest Misterioso

Great pictures, Mick! Just saw a Nankeen Night Heron last week. In Melbourne, they can be frequently seen at Newport Lakes Reserve.

Spotted some birdy happy snaps a few pages back ... wildlife out in the wild is not really my bag ... so I go to the zoo ... here's one I found lurking on the hard drive tonight :

Spoiled by the other eagle lurking behind, can't clone the bugger out.

thanks mate, the tricky part of this shot was not blowing out the highlights and having correct perspective ie buildings not leaning

You've got some top shots in that lot you'd be very happy with. Especially without a tripod. How did you manage ?

Can't you just crop it out? (and maybe lose a bit of the tail of the front one - they're eagles - they don't have to dovetail :))
