Beautiful lens, also works well with teleconverters. Will we see photos of native orchids and fungi in the future? 🙂

Great shot - you seem to wander gaily betwen Nikon and Canon - any reasons for when you choose which?

The Nikon is in Syd-A-Knee getting the shutter replaced (one of the recalls required for this camera) so I am lugging the old 7D about for a while. It's kinda noisy and doesn't handle the dynamics as well as the 750D.

I had mine done - only took a week, inconvenient, but it's nice to have the shutter actuations set back to zero!

I must get my D750 sent off for the fix. I haven't used it for nearly 12months so its not like I'm going to miss it for a while. :)

A couple of native orchids with something additional to give some perspective of their size. Although the orchid varieties vary in size, they're not always easy to spot.

#1 Purple Donkey orchid (Diuris punctata)

#2 Purple Donkey orchid (Diuris punctata) with a bee stealing the pollen

#3 Caladenia pusilla

#4 Caladenia pusilla, the same flower but photo taken with my phone. The hand of a fellow orchid photographer giving some perspective to the size of the orchid.

Shutter replacement? I think I sent my 750 off not long after I got it although I’m pretty sure they didn’t replace the shutter. Does the recall for a replacement or just a check?

Mucking about with my old Canon 70-200 f/4 lens, this is an agamapanthus in my front yard:

Canon 7D camera + Canon 70-200 f/4 L lens @ 200mm, f/4, ISO 100, 1/640 sec.

You don't always need the expensive 70-200 f/2.8 L beast of a lens to get a sharp foreground and creamy background.
