Speaker question

Recommended Posts

I'm building a new PC/Theater system, not a pc home theater system. This is going to be my PC speaker set up and I was hoping I could get some feedback and sugestions before I make purches

The set up consist of the following

Martin Logan Motion 40 (front)

Martin Logan Motion 8. (center)

Martin Logan Motion 2 (rear)

For the sub I am hoping to find some who sels the JL audio Fathom 12" for a decent price

Its all being powerd by a Onkyo TX-SR805

Can you clarify exactly what you mean by it being just a PC/Theatre system? Are you just using it for gaming? Are you running a 30in computer monitor?

Martin Logans have a distinct sound, so make sure you audition them fully. Especially if off-axis listening applies to you. Your sub seems like overkill. However, may come in handy if you ever build another system or upgrade your ML's. The JL also has pretty good resale value.

It's not only for gaming. It's for a pc set up but I will be watching movies aswell. I'm just a bit cramped for space, the motion 8 center speaker is a perfect size for my work space, I wanted to go the Motion ESL's but even Martin Logan has suggested that there not going to be a logical choise for the room I'm in. It might seam an over kill but it will be going into a bigger room some time but not in a while. But I realy don't see anything as an over kill unless it's not going to perform to its proper potential. Also BF3 has some of the best sound iv ever heard.
