Often the Chinese kit component things are poor implementations of old designs.

Often, but occasionally something is...... OK.

...yeah, that is the impression one seems to get overall... components look like outdated 70's stock

...they seem to focus a lot on 'marantz 7' copies, Jardis and Matisse...

...I dont enjoy going through hoops with the dealers from China & their products..., I need to 'know' what I am looking at and what to expect to be armed for battle properly...

... I'm leaning towards the Cornet2. Seems to be best value/quality (in tube-sound) with least issues..., just will take some time to complete...I have a feeling it will match my Rega Planar 3 admirably...

...in the meantime, I may build a SS 'mongreldog' version of the 'boozhound..., incidently, 'datafone'...how is your 'boozhound' going so far???

...the Cornet2 coupled with an Aikido Octal linestage appears to be a majik combination....

I think the Cornet2 would work well with a NAD Receiver with no phono input..., its something that can be kept rocking and rolling the tubes all the way to the next amp...:)
