Szeitszam
Item Condition: Excellent Shipping Options: Pickup available and you can audition.,Shipping is available at agreed cost. Suburb or Town: Brisbane State: QLD Payment Method: Paypal, Cash on Pickup Reason for selling: Life It is with genuine regret that I am offering my complete stereo system for sale. A growing family has forced my hand and I have no other option but to downsize. Included is everything one might need for a ‘turn key’ stereo system. Items: Wyndham Audio BR2 2.5 way loudspeakers Odyssey Audio Cyclops Extreme 2ch Integrated Amplifier Schiit Modi Multibit DAC Thor PS10 power conditioner GSP interconnect cables Singxer F1 USB/SPDIF interface I assembled this system new and with great care three years ago. It is the product of the combined wisdom of a few old Stereo.net gurus who helped me select each component with the goal of building the best chain I could afford. I am a strong believer in the concept of diminishing returns when it comes to overpriced audio gear and I believe this system walks that line perfectly- everything you need and nothing you don’t. It does what it says on the tin- produces music true to source and it does this damn well. It was easily one of the best systems I could think of assembling for under $10,000 at the time. At the price I’m asking now I personally think the performance to investment ratio is off the charts. I don’t think there’s a better system to be built out there for the same money. At this stage I am not willing to seperate items. With the exception of the Singxer F1 and the GSP USB cable, I’d rather sell this as a lot and rip the bandaid off quickly. Seeing things go in dribs and drabs will make me liable to feel even more regret than I already do. With all that being said, it’s a complete package for less than the speakers alone are worth so prospective buyers stand to make a bargain. ITEM SPECIFICS 1. Wyndham Audio BR2 speakers It hurts to let these go, the speakers that started it all. I purchase these beautiful towers brand new in 2017. They retail today for $5,950 and they would still be a bargain at that price. They are that good. The BR2’s are gorgeous 2.5 way towers, hand made by the legends at Wyndham audio in Victoria. They’re a black veneer finish and are in pristine condition thanks to a (previously) child and pet free home. The subdued black colourway with visible wood grain compliments any living room and they’ll struggle to be out of place wherever they end up. I reviewed these speakers after a month or two of ownership in 2017 and everything I said then still applies now. There’s really not much more I can add in terms of how these amazing speakers sound. They have, if anything, only improved with further listening. The next owner will not be disappointed. Unfortunately with our current situation I can’t afford to keep them, or I’d never see them go. In any case, ‘little people’ just don’t respect the finer things in life and it’s only a matter of time until one of these beauties gets toppled, drawn on or scratched. I’d hate to see that happen, so better that they go to a home where they’ll be safe. Specifications: Nominal Impedance: 8 ohm DC Resistance: 6 ohms Power Handling: 100W RMS Sensitivity: 89dB (2.83V @ 1m) Low Frequency Cutoff: 42Hz (-3dB) High Frequency Cutoff: 23Khz (-3dB) Crossover: 4th order Linkwitz-Riley @ 2500Hz (Acoustically optimised) Weight: 26kg per enclosure Dimensions: 250 [W] 360 [D] 1050 [H] (mm) Bases, spikes and grille cloths included. As they stand: Awesome low sheen black finish: Close up of tweeter unit: Upon delivery: The Cyclops, Mimby and BR2’s working in the media room: 2. Odyssey Audio Cyclops 2 Channel Integrated amplifier- ‘Extreme’ version I purchased this fantastic amplifier in late 2017 direct from Odyssey Audio in America for the full retail of $2200 AUD (base price, plus upgrades). I spoke at length with the Odyssey’s director Klaus who determined that the Cyclops was the best suited in his lineup for the BR2’s. Klaus takes his work seriously, he would only assemble an amp for me after I’d monitored the output voltage from my chosen wall socket for three days! He was adamant he should optimise the amp for our ‘Australian conditions’. I don’t know about all that, but I do know it’s the best amplifier I’ve had the pleasure of listening to so far, excluding the Benchmark AHB2 which costs twice as much. It has been a fantastic amplifier. It’s a 30kg behemoth with more power than I’ve ever needed. I could push the BR2’s as far as I liked using the Cyclops and struggle to think of a better pairing for them under $4000. The only blemish on the amplifier is a small dent on the facia which must have happened moving. It’s unnoticeable from the front, I only realised it was there myself upon taking the photos for the ad. Specifications from Odyssey: • Minimalist design, 1 input only • 2 x 110 Watts RMS @ 8 Ohms • 2 Ohm load stable • Class A/AB • 2 - 400,000 Hz frequency range • 60,000µF memory (Extreme upgrade increases this to 120,000µF) • 40 amps current delivery • <0.04% THD (inaudible) • >500 continuous damping factor • Input impedance 22K ohms • DC offset <1 mV • RCA inputs • High quality Alps potentiometer • 400 VA Plitron transformer (Extreme upgrade includes an even better power transformer) • Sanken Epitaxial Planar Transistors 2SA1216 & 2SC2922 • Anti vibration dual thickness PCB • Power consumption when idle ±30Watts • 4 internal fuses 250V/6.3A, 5x20mm, fast blow • Additional electrical protection fuse Cool shot of the internals: Hooked up to the Mimby: Rear connections: Chip to facia corner: 3. Schiit Modi Multibit I bought the Mimby new in 2017 from Addicted to Audio. RRP ~$480. As most of us already know, it’s a fantastic little DAC for the money. It synergised well in my system and doesn’t get in the way of the music. It let’s the BR2’s and Cyclops do their thing without fuss. 4. THOR PS10 Power Conditioner I bought the PS10 in 2018 seeking to surge protect my system and deliver a nice, clean 230v to the amplifier and components. The RRP was $1700 at the time. Mine is no longer the most recent generation, but does the same thing as the one that is. In my opinion, after seeing the voltage fluctuations we experience here in Brisbane, this is a non-optional component. It’s given me peace of mind and has fed the Cyclops the clean 230v it was optimised for. Great condition. Apologies for the poor photos- the PS10 is currently mounted inside a media unit against a wall which is not conducive to good photographs. It’s comes with the power board and is in good condition. 5. Graham Slee interconnects 1 x Lautus USB cable 1.2m 1 x Lautus RCA-RCA interconnect 1.5m 1 x Pair of Lautus RCA/RCA cables 1.5m 1 x Pair of Spatia speaker cables 2m RRP: $791 I purchased these cables brand new with the BR2’s in 2017. They’re all the cable you need, high quality construction with none of the snake-oil additions that do nothing but burn a bigger hole in your wallet. I’ve found them to perform flawlessly. Pictured is the Lautus USB cable, indicative of all the interconnects, which remain hooked up to the speakers in the media room. 5. Singxer F1 USB to SPDIF interface Also bought in 2017. RRP is ~$180 USD from what I can remember. Does what it says on the tin- decrapifies USB signal. Handy if your source is a PC like mine was. There are more expensive options out there which have been shown to offer little to no extra benefit to the F1. The F1 coupled with the GSP Lautus USB cable is a great combo and should mitigate all the choppy B/S your PC sends up the chain. Excellent condition. I did lose a little sleep after posting the ad last night. Just how life goes sometimes, when it rains it pours! We’ve all been there and I’ll try not to dwell on it as long as the kit goes to a good home.
Bunno77
Very easy to put some fencing around the system to protect from those little hands. Many have had great success doing just that.

I would have definitely done the same myself if there weren’t other factors forcing my hand here.

Unfortunately the issue isn’t really the safety of the speakers, it’s that my family needs baby things and working appliances more than I need a big stereo. First world problems. Knowing the set will go somewhere where it’ll be taken care of is just finding the silver lining amidst a crappy situation. Szeitszam
Thor PS10 has been sold to an SNA member. The Thor ‘power board’ remains in case someone needs that for that system. Edited June 21, 2021 by Szeitszam
