lemarquis
Might give Eddy a spin. Had a good listen last night to some familiar tracks. These have a pretty dense soundstage and a lot going on, including a good smattering of delicate touches. Whenever I change something I use these reference tracks to do something of a box-ticking exercise. Is all the detail there? Anything new I missed? How does that lovely chord sound now? etc. etc. All boxes ticked. Am I sure it's not worse? Yep. Is it any better? So far I seem to feel it is but time will tell. Worst case scenario is it makes no difference but if for the sake of less than $7 and a bit of tinkering on a wintry weekend I convince myself it's actually better.. who cares. wen
harks back to days of yore, brick on top of Quad 405, vast improvement in soundstage, bass more coheasive, mids more open, more air in top end = delusion squared, does actually sound better
wen
i know, the question will be asked, what kind of brick gives the best result?, red brick, tumbled edge, clinker, concrete, hebel, as with all tweaks, trial and error, your preference

andrewyuri
Regarding locating these at Bunnings - download the Bunnings app to your phone, set your store in the app, and it will tell you exactly which aisle it's in.
