For reluctant sale is my Koetsu Black cartridge.
Working perfectly. No issues.
All original, no retip or rebuild.
Purchased from original owner who was in his later years and genuinely did not used it. A time poor engineer and once retirement came his interest in audio was almost non-existant.
Anyway, shoot me any questions you may have.

Happy to post. Pick up from Geelong.
Price is firm.
Donation upon successful sale.

I remember reading Art Dudley’s review of the Black back when I was working at a hifi shop. I remember he called it “beautifully human" and I remember thinking that, maybe in ten years or so I’d be in a position to maybe own one.

Turns out, no :D

Beautiful cart. glwts 👍

Hi

do you know how old the cartridge is, and any estimate on number of hours it has?

cheers

Cameron

I can tell you that it's a Sugano Snr built cart. Hours are 250-300.

As a current proud Koetsu Black owner and user, I feel compelled to comment here. For sale is an exceptional product at an extremely generous price. A quick Ebay search will reveal much more recently manufactured Blacks (new and used) with much much higher asking prices. These products (good as they are), were not made by the master - Mr Sugano Snr. at a time when he was at the peak of his powers. Furthermore and most importantly, acquisition of these items would involve the vagaries of an international transaction, as opposed in this case to dealing with a highly respected Australian fellow SNA member.
I can assure you, this cartridge is a wonderful artefact exhibiting exquisite timing and capable of breathing effortless realism into recorded music.

The Koetsu Black will not be too much for ypur system IMO. By all accounts your turntable was designed to be a very high calibre performer. You don't mention the tonearm? That's also a far from insignificant part of the chain.

Item Condition: New Shipping Options: Pickup available but audition is not available.,Shipping is available at agreed cost. Suburb or Town: Maroubra State: NSW Payment Method: Cash on Pickup / EFT for Post Reason for selling: Space too small Further information: I bought these new last week with matching DS1 stands at retail $580 (receipt provided to buyer). I have the option to return them minus re-stocking fee, but thought I'd try and pass them on to an SNA member at a community discount!

My computer desk has no space so I listened to the HD3s in my main system: these little speakers have a very nice balance and terrific midrange. The construction is second-to-none with absolutely inert cabinets. They definitely sound best in near-field proximity, up to one 1m from ears.

Inbuilt USB DAC is good and the headphone amp was satisfying driving my Beyers and Grados.

      All boxed accessories included new.
