Guest Mr Thorens
SOLD Item Condition: Very good, some marks as per photo Shipping Options: Pickup available but audition is not available.,Shipping is available at agreed cost. Suburb or Town: Ridgehaven State: SA Payment Method: EFT PayPal Cash Reason for selling: Decluttering Further information: Rare first generation Philips CD player. I bought this locally as a curiosity and wow. When hearing this unit, how clean, dynamic, musical, one wonders whether 30+ years of technology has achieved a much better sound. I don’t play CDs so I’m happy for another member to enjoy it. CD mechanism is made of cast iron. Slide out drawer has top window and lit with green LEDs. Weighs approx 8kg. Sounds simply amazing. Has been serviced and recapped (before I got it). Output caps upgraded to Elna Silmic and op amp upgraded to TI version of NE5532. RCA jacks have been added to rear to replace flimsy original RCA cable. Prefer local pickup as this is rare, can post if necessary however whilst this is a “bulletproof” machine no responsibility taken if damaged in transit. PMAAMP
Terrific machine! Just checking - being a CDM-0 transport mechanism, it doesn't have a coax/optical out does it? I don't think it does, but wanted to be doubly sure. GLWTS!

There is a way to add digital output to machines without one on DIY Audio. I have a couple of Sony machines with BU-1 mechanisms which I plan to turn into transports.. One day.
