Frank Prowse Hi-Fi
It's probably the worst kept secret of 2021 in Perth, but we are very happy to range the renowned Chord Electronics brand in-store. We are focussing on the premium end of the range, so we wont be dealing with the Mobile or Hugo ranges, rather the Tabletop (including the Hugo TT2), Choral, Ultima/Reference. For now, we have the Hugo TT2, DAVE and the Ultima 6 power amp in store, with more to follow in due course. Along with dCS (and COS Engineering coming soon), this gives us a pretty potent range of high-end, incredibly performing DACs to offer the Perth market and beyond. Pics coming soon!! Frank Prowse Hi-Fi
With so much focus (rightly so) on Chord's DACs, enthusiasts tend to forget that the brand makes some stunning analogue eqiupment - integrated amplifiers, pre/power combos and phono stages. For their amplifiers, intelligently shielded switch-mode power supplies, able to refill the capacitors at a much faster rate than toroidal transformers, were the only way to reproduce bass frequencies with true precision, and for the amplification devices themselves, the MOSFETs, John Franks worked tirelessly to develop his own unique and utterly transparent devices. Free of distortion and so musical, Chord Electronics’ analogue technologies are in a class of their own. Currently have the Ultima 6 on our showroom floor, with others to follow.
