Tweaky
Here's a interesting comparison between several games played at both 60FPS and 120FPS on a PS5. It seems from the video that you'll have to choose between higher quality video, or faster game play. It's early days with PS5 games, so I'm expecting new games to be made that better utilize the PS5's GPU so games have more detail played at 120FPS. cwt
Another good reason why hdmi 2.0 a/b is adequate in lieu of hdmi 2.1 4k/120hz chipset problems in avr's
agisthos
The new consoles can barely hit steady 60fps at 4k. So at 120hz you can be sure they are reducing a lot of graphical content. Does the extra hz make a big difference you think? My last console was an X360 so I am out of the loop on how consoles play on modern 4k tv's. Ive been doing some research on the 2 camps and ime being steered towards x box for another factor - hdr .. which is perfect for all the dv capable high nit tvs out there the average punter cant appreciate My hdmi2.0 display is happy with 4k/60 input and dont want things to disappear onscreen In fact both x box x and s will be getting dolby vision which of course is dynamic scene by scene rather than a fixed metadata -great . They also have an auto hdr setting for older games However the ps5 [typical sony] has there own proprietary solution to upsell a nice new oled etc PS5 gets another killer graphics upgrade – but there's a huge catch | T3

The ps5 doesn't have atmos in games for the same reason. The consumer friendly box doesn't seem to be something they want to tick that much lately. The Sony equivalent of FPS boost almost seems to mean "buy new game"

The Sony equivalent of FPS boost almost seems to mean "buy new game" Thanks for the info about FPS boost ; I knew some older games were enhanced [and there is speculation that more will be enhanced on microsofts birthday this year? ] but I didnt know that frame rates could be upped as well . My tele does a good job upscaling higher resolutions so I dont mind feeding it 1080p or 1440 p from the series s console
usethe4c
No worries. Yeah I think star wars battlefront 2, a personal favourite, will do 120hz. Battlefield 5 also. Both gamepass games. I'm still at 1080p display wise (projector too) but in my case 60fps is a lot better than 30!
