There's only a few components that look good in gold...... imo this is one, would buy it just to look at.

That and this older thing with the same badge. One day I’ll buy one just for nostalgia reasons. And yeah, also just to look at it.

Hmmm, this thread seems much harder to fill than the fugly thread. There are many TT custom made plinths I have lusted after, but far fewer stock items I like. The Luxman amps with VU meters have already got a mention, I still have remorse over selling mine.

As a piece of fantastic industrial design, and I do have a personal interest, but the Kuzma Stabi S is a triumph of precision, simplicity, and beauty to me.

Quite a few steps up the chain from my ME1s, but these TAD R1s have a huge presence to look at. I know they have been favorites of a number of members, one day I hope to  be in position to listen to them with a view to buying

I agree 100% on the TADs. I feel like that they need to live in a large study or library with floor to ceiling bookshelves, a chesterfield, and a selection of beverages that were bottled before Facebook was a thing.

Glad to hear I am not alone with my audio fetish.

Back in the mid-1970s as a teen I had a stack of well-thumbed audio magazines instead of Playboys. My neighbour's Cerwin Vegas with their red rimmed 12" woofers got me hooked and I would have sold my soul for a pair of Gale 401s or possibly Yamaha NS-1000s (the latter sound better). Forty-five years later, I still get a shiver walking into a hi-fi dealership. I do regret selling my Electrocompaniet ECI-3 which I thought was gorgeous.

when i was a teenager 12 or 13, i used to go the newsagent after school and drool over the absolute sound and stereophile journal magazines. i only started buying the mags when i was around 22, but had already bought many car magazines since 9 years old.

then there was a local hi-fi shop, and i used to go in check out the nakamichi dragon and b&w 801, linn sondek lp12, rega, luxman tables..... used to go in on my own as none of my friends were into it.

funny how things don't change!

Consider the simple spouse test: how many of our spouses would pay even $100 to have any one of our Hifi items added to their showcase living area

My wife has no concerns about what I buy or sell as longs as these dining room puppies remain.

I don’t usually go for bling but I’ll take any Burmester! Just wish I win that lottery soon.

I’ll own anything they make even if it sounds bad! But you know they are going to sound amazing! ?

Hello folks,

I built these BR1s for my youngest daughter and we exhibited them at the last HiFi Show in Melbourne in late 2019 before she took possession.:winky: They are built from natural timber [not veneer], Camphor Laurel, and no paint was used, but rather they are finished with multiple applications of oil and bees wax.

Cheers,

Keith

Like all Hifi it's better in black :)
Seems Halcro have changed the colour again though to maybe a gunmetal grey? Hard to tell from their site.

This example certainly deserves its place in this thread IMO. Would love to try a pair out.

Or better, a few pairs and go fully active on my Everests :)

It was pretty impressive at your show.

Could be an opportunity for Halcro to demo to some new customers???
