Further information:

I'm getting out of vinyl as I never use since the little one came along.  My loss is your gain. - Please note that this is a local sale: Pickup only.

On offer is my Victor TT-Y5 vintage table.  The best performing table I've had the pleasure of owning.

It's been fully recapped and quality rhodium plated RCA's with hollow telurium copper centre pins installed,  plus a banana plug for the earth by Brisbane Electronics so it should last many more years to come. Set me back $440 and I supplied the RCA's and banana plug.

A Tortech 240 to 100VAC step down transformer is included.

The table has an SDS IsoPlatMat and quality record weight with fish eye spirit level built in. I also have the original mat here though the IsoPlatMat is significantly better sonically. The table is rock solid.

The table is early 1980's vintage so it does have the usual surface scratches in the cover and small dings in the corners. There's also some light pitting on the edge of the platter. Performance however is stellar.

"The Victor QL-Y5, released only in Japan in 1981 (during the "Golden Era" of Japanese audiophile equipment), is a somewhat less well known direct drive turntable. The QL-Y5 has some impressive stats, including an SNR of 78 dB (DIN-B) and wow and flutter of 0.011% WRMS. The QL-Y5 features a double servo quartz circuit to control the motor, for stable platter rotation."

In my recent searches for a quality Japanese auto turntable, this particular model kept popping up as a strong contender in the quality stakes. They appear quite sought after so hopefully shouldn't take too long before a buyer shows interest.

Yes, it's easily the best performing table I've owned..... Funnily enough the TT-71 motor based tables are the second best I've run.

you will be sorry.

the hifi and music kept me sane when my kids were babies.  you just need to train them. ?

Unfortunately just had a massive blue with my wife over a new amp I just had arrive. It's not by any means expensive, but still. Anyway I'm very very happy with my digital chain so I'm simplifying. Tidal is an invisible purchase so I don't get in trouble when a new LP rocks up.

say it isn't so!

hope it finds an appreciative home

i'd be tempted if i hadn't just upgraded my sub, forked out a bit for a service n fix on the main amp, and have a house move to undertake in the coming weeks which will need room treatment, etc...

Or your loss @MattyW.:) Put some stuff aside at least and definitely keep your records. I got out of vinyl when family came along but it was a mistake.....my return to it has been one of life's biggest joys. Of course, music is music sure.....but food for thought.

Beautiful table......GLWTS.

I may keep one of the TT71 tables and my modded Realistic phono stages. I don't really care to go through all the vinyl I have to sell it.  Just not enough time.

Top of the line, good working order.
The 840C embraces a raft of proprietary technologies including ATFâ„¢ (Adaptive Time Filtering) asynchronous up-sampling technology which has been developed in conjunction with Anagram Technologies of Switzerland. This system intelligently interpolates 16-bit/44.1kHz CD data to 24-bit/384kHz data, through the use of a 32-bit Analog Devices Black Fin DSP (digital signal processor). This in turn feeds two 24-bit/384kHz DACs from the same company in dual differential formation.
Each DAC handles just one channel for excellent stereo imaging, operating fully in differential mode for exceptionally low distortion and noise.
Both unbalanced RCA and balanced XLR outputs are fitted. Two digital inputs are also provided which even allow the up-sampling and playback of other sources such as a DVD player via the Azur 840C. In addition, a recording digital output can even allow bit-for-bit data or upsampled data at 48, 96 or 192 kHz to be recorded by a suitable device.

Purchased new in 1992. Comes with original box. This has served our family well but not been used for more than 10 years.
At low volumes it only plays through one speaker - could happen either side. Turn up the volume and then both sides are even.
Apart from the above, in very good condition. Was always used inside a cabinet with a door.
