Further information:

I am seling my Pioneer S-HF10 speakers as I have an opportunity to purchase a "wish list" pair of speakers,
These Pioneer are a bit of a mystery, the only info on the web is a service manual and some talk that the 10" drivers are made by TAD, TAD (I believe) is the high end audio section of Pioneer, and retail for big $'s, These driver have no roll surround, They run up an down in a cast Aluminium basket, to keep the cones centered there are TWO spiders per drivers,  very interesting design
They are a good sounding speaker with nice bass, good detail and a slightly recessed treble

Dimensions  95 x 29 x 39cm (HxWxD,)
Weight 25KG each
link to service manual, https://www.manualscenter.com/manuals/pioneer/shf10-service-manual.html#.YAFc85MzZME
Audition is welcome,
Thanks for looking
Steve

I have 5 x Pioneer S-W200 subwoofers that have 2 x 4.5" edgeless drivers. You wouldn't believe how hard they punch for such little drivers.

Its amazing to watch how far they move at full power.

I would love to grab these but I have no need for any more speakers and I am in WA :(

GLWTS

Just about worth it for the bass drivers alone - double spider / surroundless is interesting in itself!

If only I had a suitable use at the moment!

GLWTS!

I haven't seen these driver outside of TAD (S-HF3 and S-HF5 models). And certainly not in that size, unless they're actually 9-inch.

A definite bargain for a lucky Sydneysider!

Hi cloth ears

do you have a link to the TAD S-HF3 or 5?

Here's S-LH3, S-LH5 and S-LH5A. I believe S-ST05 and S-ST7 also used them.

They're also on page 3 of the Japanese website: https://audio-heritage.jp/PIONEER-EXCLUSIVE/speaker/index3.html

Sorry, I got the models wrong. They were LH, not HF

Thanks, looks like the same driver, if I had a way of measuring the T&S parameters, I'd prbably keep them and do a speaker build around them

If I had a way of hiding them from my wife, I would have probably bought them from you!

Here's the 10" bass drivers on my TAD speakers.

Concertina style surround.

30-35mm exertion. Punch harder than Mike Tyson in his prime.

Hi gang, first off the bat I've got to be upfront and say that I do not like how these sound. Bought them from another member here as per the ad below and they sounded tinny and shrill. I thought maybe it was the cabinets and some run in time was required. Risks of buying speakers unheard I guess, but was expecting more given good reviews online.

I then got some plans from David Dicks, owner of AN and went with the build for the 2.8 Mk II cabinets which was the biggest I thought I would get away with for our living room. It has opened up after some run in time and the midrange has come in, but still very little bass to speak of despite the larger cabinet volumes. Really wanted to like these and made for a fun lockdown project, but it's time for me to give this one up and hopefully someone else can do something with them or get them sounding as they should.

Made of 18mm MDF so cabinets are quite hefty. Cabinet is a DIY job so don't expect perfection, but they're not too bad and would look decent once finished. Cabinet dimensions 980mm high, 350mm deep, 305mm wide. Grilles are attached magnetically.

Pick up only, but if there's interest in just the drivers I could consider splitting and shipping just drivers.

Keen to move these along, and think I've priced it reasonably considering cost of drivers alone is USD295, plus materials and lots of time for the cabinets.
