Further information:

I’m reluctantly selling a pair of Totem Arro speakers in real mahogany. Suffice to say, they’re tiny, elegant floor standers that punch way above their weight. Loads of info online so I won’t bother with addition details or personal opinions.

I have a ridiculously small and awful listening area and recently switched to a pair of Proac Tablette 10s to use near-field, hence the sale. I'm currently using the Arros in my office but it's a waste.

The speakers are in very good condition and play flawlessly. I made a pair of plynths that accept M8 spikes or feet to help stabilise the speakers - they can easily be removed if you don’t like them.

Also included is  a pair of Totem “Beaks” or tuning-pods ($165 RRP) as well as 3d printed driver covers and 3d printed mass-loading-port covers. (see photos)

Totem seems to have a real cult following in North America and Europe. Take a look online at reviews and forum posts - it’s difficult to find anything but gushing praise for these little guys.

I suppose I can ship them but would need to determine the cost – they’re relatively small and light, for speakers, so it shouldn’t be too bad. Pickup and audition is welcomed and preferred.

I'm a transplant from North America, where Totem speakers are more abundant. I brought a pair down here. Haven't heard the Arro,* but my daily driver is its larger sibling the Sttaf,* manufactured at about the same time as these Arros. The Sttaf are lovely speakers, and I hear the Arro bests them in some respects. If you're in the market for bookshelf speakers, I would seriously consider these instead. They're reputed to work especially well in smaller spaces.

*Not typos--Totem has idiosyncratic nomenclature.

They deserve all the praise they get. Heard these some years back when i was speaker shopping and they were the most engaging speakers i heard. Punch well above their weight and size.

At this asking price, they are a real bargain!

Absolute stonking bargain.

These are thin on the ground in Aus. If you want to buy them new then your talking NZ to buy them(yeah I know..Canadian manufacturer and they decide to drop them in a 5 million market  instead of a 25 million market)

The Arros are just a sweet spot in the range. Can't recommend them enough.

The Arros are superb speakers for a small or small-medium room.  They have a high WAF as they don't dominate the room.  Construction is excellent.  That looks like the cherry finish to me but it is very attractive.

Item Condition: Very good Shipping Options: Shipping is included in price. Suburb or Town: Brisbane State: QLD Payment Method: Paypal as a friend Reason for selling: NLR Further information:

This is a great little unit that I bought after reading some measurements on. It has 2 functions, one to act as a buffer that uses Jfets to provide a high input impedance and low output impedance and to provide a very accurate attenuation of  source.
The other function is where you switch off the Jfet section and use the relay volume pot to provide attenuation. In that function it is as benign a passive buffer / attenuator as you could hope to get. And it has remote control, multiple inputs and dual outputs so it's covered in terms of convenience.

I ran it between my DAC and preamp to do a comparison between having in in circuit and then having nothing (except interconnects!) between them. This revealed that the passive attenuator had the slightest nuance of effect.

In Jfet mode, it was much the same but the bass and treble extension seems to extend a tad more and there is a slightly more muscular emphasis in the lower midrange / bass region (tiny amount).

So if you need a remote preamp that is very transparent and has a good range of features, this is a good choice!
Unit is in great condition. Will post securely with tracking.

Sorry about the crappy photos. Forgot to take a piccy of the remote but it's a nice little aluminium unit that's in really good condition.
