From Reed Website: Reed Muse 1C Turntable: Shaped with traditional 70s design elements in mind, Reed Muse 1C features robust, stable and resonance-free wooden body. However a lot of Muse 1C technologies, including main bearing and drive traction control, are inherited from our flagship Muse 3C. Muse 1C can play 33RPM, 45 RPM, 16RPM, 78RPM recods. For your convenience, 78 RPM speed can be manually adjusted in range of 70-85 RPM. Muse 1C can be fitted with one center or off-center mount tonearm with effective length ranging from 9.5 to 12 inch. The Reed 2G is a tonearm model which merges the best features of the Reed 2A and Reed 3Q tonearms and adds a few new ones. The Reed 2G is very easily adjusted and can be mounted to virtually any turntable with or without an adapter. The Reed 2G features 0.2 mm precision VTA adjustment and the tonearm’s height can be adjusted from 28 mm to 48 mm. The tonearm has a cardanic bearing system: vertical axis has thrust rotation bearings and horizontal axis is based on thrust pivot bearings (close to the Reed 3P). Such bearing construction eliminates bearing wobbling, which has a great impact on the quality of the sound. All Reed 2G tonearms have a unique azimuth adjustment system, which allows implementing a tonearm with replaceable armwands. The replaceable armwands feature allows you to change tonearm effective length and effective mass with no hassle. For connecting the armwand and tonearm body a high quality LEMO connector is used. The Reed 2G has replaceable headshells. The tonearm’s antiskating is magnetic and is similar to one used in the Reed 3P tonearm SPECIFICATIONS FOR TURNTABLE Color Moonlit Black Drive Belt, two direct current (DC) motors Speed 33, 45, 16, 78 rpm; 33 and 45 rpm can be manually adjusted Speed stabilizing system Quartz-based phase locked loop (PLL) Max deviation of average speed +/- 0.05 % Supply voltage DC 10-14V, via 100 – 240V AC adapter or Reed Source 12V Packaging dimensions (L x W x H) 650 x 520 x 350 mm Product weight netto (unpacked) 15 kg Product weight brutto (packed) 20 kg Tonearms Single, center or off-center mount; effective length from 9.5 to 12 inch SPECIFICATIONS FOR TONEARM Effective length 9.5’’ 10.5’’ 12’’ (you can change the wand to a different length) Mounting distance, mm 223 251.6 295.6 Overhang, mm 17 15.4 13.4 Offset angle, deg 22.9 20.7 17.6 Effective mass From 14g to 22g, depending on armwand and headshell material Edited January 10, 2021 by Doctor Faustus 5

Doctor Faustus
HAving been asked : the cartridge mounted on the arm when I took the pics was an old MM type SHURE M95EH - I wanted to hear what this sounded like on this turntable with this arm. I found it in my box of stuff still all new, having bought many years ago to put on a turntable for my mother but alas it never happened. I did also test an Ortofon VMS20 Mk2 but then broke the cantilever after I took it off the headshell on my workbench. Sad ..but old and had its time. It was interesting to compare these to all the newer and exxy carts I have had and have.
