Updated - free to good home in SNA on the proviso you've a kid you'll use it with. So my father rocked up with this one day; he was teaching at a university and one of his trade course students made this for a final year project and managed to sell it to dad afterwards thinking it'd be a great idea for kids. It materialised at our house shortly thereafter. It is bloody heavy. As in extremely solid. The stuff on the sideas as least I can assure you is not veneer. The drawer works smoothly, there's a lip underneath to open/close. The veneer is quite nice and I'd guess the finish is some sort of single-pack poly. My clan did not bond with it in the manner intended and some time shortly later I walked into it and given the aforementioned solid nature of the beast it's safe to suggest I came off second best.
