down,down - the coles jingle:

and by extension/origin:

I think their jingle effort has placed this band into a permanent no go zone for me. Not that I was much of a fan before but it certainly dropped this bands rating down-down some 90%.

I saw these guys at the old Apollo Stadium many years ago, probably the loudest concert I've ever been to. I used to think I liked Down, Down when it first came out, but everything they did from then on just sounded the same. Can't stand it now after the Coles sellout. I still play 'Pictures Of Matchstick Men' from time to time though.

In no particular order:
1812 Overture - Tchaikovsky

7th Symphony - Beethoven
Axel F - Crazy Frog (originally known as 'The Annoying Thing")

Canon in D Major - Pachelbel

Macarena - Los del Río

The Jam - Black Betty

Did you mean 'Ram Jam'? AFAIK, The Jam never did a cover of Black Betty...

I’ve been to the Gympie Muster and the Tamworth Country Music festival so I’ve already had to listen to the soundtrack to hell

Its why I’m now leading a Christian Life of good behaviour

Just in case?

Stairway To Heaven would fit right in

A song so awful it took Rolf Harris to improve it

And if you do end up in that unfortunate place you might need  an escape route

haha, I know you're just trying to be provocative, rather than blasphemous about "Stairway to Heaven"

Yes I did. Thank you for correcting me fine Sir, The Jam are actually a damned good band

Do you prefer Leadbelly's cover (don't think they called them covers back then though) of "Black Betty" ?

Do do do, de da, da da, is all I want to say to you.

( a low point in Sting's career )

I bought the album on the strength of the sentiment in that song! (Verse 2 in particular)

It's also one of those songs that get folk my age back up on the dancefloor after it's been cleared by playing a request. ?

What did you think of Spiderbait's version?

I don't like banjo however you distort it, I don't particularly like Spiderbait, and their version isn't a whole lot different to Ram Jam, so just another crap on crap really. My opinion at least.

Well and truely into the second page without mention, so I guess I'm the only one who can't stand this.

Some things are best forgotten, and don't ever deserve publicity! ?
