Ian McP
Available from Northside Records Fitzroy http://www.northsiderecords.com.au/ PAT JAFFE “Eldorado” (Patjaffe) LP $35 Fitzroy local, Pat Jaffe, has just released his debut album Eldorado, recorded at Masterkey Studios, Reykjavík in January. Pat’s compositions, which sit halfway in-between jazz and chamber music, are mainly for solo piano, although two tracks feature the stunning Icelandic ensemble, Siggi String Quartet. Fresh from being pressed at Program Records in Thornbury this week, this extremely limited run of 100 copies also showcases beautiful photography by Krystal Neumann, taken at Falls Creek. “His music blends elements of jazz, modern classical, and minimalist pianism, falling somewhere between Brad Mehldau and Australian neo-classical pianist Luke Howard. There’s something in these woven melodies and their relaxed timing that calms the soul when peace is needed most.” - Headphone Commute (UK) >

audiofeline
It seems that the record-pressing industry is recovering from the lacquer disc crisis caused at the start of the year by the Apollo Masters Corp. fire.

chronomancer
Anyone had hands on with one of their pressings yet and can comment on the quality? I have some friends looking to do a small run for a new album, wasn't super impressed with Zenith last time.

Ian McP
One of TISM's new releases will be pure silence, hope you get a good pressing! ttps://www.theage.com.au/culture/music/vinyl-revolution-400-000-later-australia-s-first-new-press-in-30-years-is-here-20210211-p571l8.html < Steve Lynch looks harried. TISM LPs have been flying out of his enormous mechanical baby > https://www.theage.com.au/culture/music/after-20-years-rock-pranksters-tism-are-back-reissuing-cult-hits-20201207-p56ld2.html < Memories of TISM are now timely because the group, which called it a day in 2004 after 20 years of sheeting it to anyone who ever went near an art school, have resurfaced. The band have announced a “reissue campaign”, which naturally commenced with the release of two new records: the live album On Behalf of TISM I Would Like to Concede That We Have Lost the Election, a recording of their final live performance at the Earthcore Festival in November 2004, and on vinyl The TISM Deluxe Omni Album, which contains nothing but silence and an unspoken invitation for critics to launch their best conceptual reviews. >
