eman
It's been suggested to me to look into these to guard against killing myself from dodgy gear. Never heard of it before but it essentially looks like a circuit breaker. I've got a new house and I know the breakers work. Do these do anything new ? Also there's simple plug in versions that would be easier if I do. Some have multiple outlets so useful as multiple power outlet. Thanks.
Bunno77
You should have them installed in your switchboard but find a sparky if not in your board. Something like this isn't a bad idea if you are building gear/playing around even if you do have them already installed in your switchboard. https://www.bunnings.com.au/click-4-outlet-powerblock-with-rcd-safety-switch_p0135806

Well worth having esp when you have a bit of diy/imported gear.

HPM make very good gear. @eman Forgive my laziness for finding the first unit to appear and saying 'something like this'. I did find a clipsal unit but it was stupid money. RCD/GFCI/ELCB/Safety switch Check the rules but for Queensland I found this Queensland If a home has been sold after 1 September 2002, a licensed electrical contractor can only do installation work if a safety switch is being installed as part of that work or if it is an emergency. All leased domestic residences must have safety switches on their power points. When a house is sold without a safety switch, it must have one installed within three months. Safety switches for lighting is not compulsory, but recommended.

It's for a cheap import. Suggested as a just in case idea, but maybe adds a safety level generally anyway. I do have a standard box full of circuit breakers on the house that I know do work. I was looking at exactly the ones you linked. What I didn't notice was the different manufacturer. Edited November 23, 2020 by eman

I also know it works from when I had an electrical fault in a brand new RCM.
