As a kid, going to watch his Bond movies was a major major event! May you rest in peace Sir!

How utterly sad.

A great actor and a great human being, who lived a full and meaningful life.

Now it's time for the big sleep Sean.

R.I.P.

A great, great actor.  Hugely entertaining.

I think I need to watch Hunt For Red October for the 82nd time.

RIP

Without a doubt one of his greatest movies. Deserves every one of 82 viewings.

Such a great loss to film and humanity. Cheers to you Sir Sean Connery.

Are you all aware that he believed it was ok to hit a woman? I just learnt this, and from his words, in a Barbara Walters interview.

Yeah, but I thought it was too soon to mention.

But turned me off him when I heard it a few years back, men should not do this for any reason.

I don't think it's ever "too soon" to mention something like that.

As the entertainment reporter said, something along the lines of you can admire his work, while also acknowledging the bad.

I didn't think much on hearing about his death. Frankly, he lived a long and great life, so I don't feel bad. I liked him in movies but wasn't a favourite by any means. Hearing him actually say he thought it was fine to hit a woman though, WOW. Probably not unlike many men of his vintage.

Yeah, definitely old school thinking, or lack of thought.

And deep down I agree that it is never too soon in regards to things like that, I just didn't want to derail the tread with it.

Agreed. Derailing and speaking ill of the dead (which I considered before posting) are not good, I was just a little shocked when I saw the clip of the interview where Connery said it, and wanted to share the info.

Judge for yourself, but it's pretty clear cut tbh.

Power and control issues.

Edit: I remember seeing that interview back when it first aired, it turned me off him and I never really went for his movies after that.

I don't like to support people with views like his.

R.I.P. Sir Sean.

I must admit I was never a big fan of the 007 movies, but I did liked his acting in just about everything else I saw him in. A legendary actor of the old school type.
