I'm interested, however, excuse my ignorance, but how does it rip CDs? Do you need an external transport? Had a look at the web site - not much help.🤔

You have to connect a external transport via USB.

The lightning has jitter checking , so it's like ripping it multiple times and getting the data perfect.

It's a part of the new OS 7.0 , you don't need a Aries G2.1 to do that.

Yes,

 

Explanation above sums it up. it’s available on all Aries and Altair models, even the original Aries.

 

It largely works with all external drives.. There is also a playback function where you can use an external drive to play a CD. auralic recommend any decent drive and that you spend more on the power supply to get good playback results. But the quality of the drive/power supply is not as important with straight ripping.

 

It sounds superb also on playback using the memory, much better than most CD players, even 10k players.
 

I have the ASUS one listed above and it doesn’t work as well as an old LaCie CD burnerTBH which was $50.

 

Hope this helps with Paul’s sale.

      EMBY - why are there no threads on this?

      I'm new, my first post here, sorry if I missed something obvious, but I wonder why Emby isn't mentioned here. I did a search, nothing on Emby or Kodi, which seems odd.
       
      My 2c, I have bought and used many commercial media centres, and had given up on those after many playback and streaming issues some time ago and moved to Kodi.
       But Kodi, just kept having issues, not to mention requiring a fairly powerful box to drive it at decent speeds.
       
      I came across Emby (as it was a supported app on my LG tv) and after trialling it with no success, gave up, and went back to kodi, but more Kodi crashes later, I tried again. With the right playback options set, I now run Emby Server on an SBC (Odroid C2) and it streams everything from my 40TB NAS  to the LG TV, including 4K content in native format(s). The Tv plays then all, including DTS etc sound.
       
      In the movie room I have an AppleTV which also has the Emby App on it, to drive the JVC DLA1 projector and VAF 7.1 system, again, awesome.
       
      So far so good, and the WAF is high.
       
      Surely I'm not the only Emby user here?

      Selling my Ayon Audio NW-T/DSD Vacuum Tube Network Transport (RRP $8395). I am the first owner and bought this unit in January 2020. The NW-T is the only vacuum tube based, Pure CLASS A Network Player in production anywhere. It has a warm analog tube sound, it is perfect for any digital file listening. It has the DSD upgrade Kit fitted. The unit has a small scratch on the RH, the rest is perfect.
      The NW-T network playe is a new outstanding design which includes a Network-Transport with its “tube buffered digital output stage” and an Analog/Digital converter (ADC). The Network-Transport can be connected with any external DAC or CD-player with a digital input (DAC section). Furthermore its built-in ADC can be used to convert analog signals (e.g. of a phono-stage) into digital signals or into FLAC files respectively and to store them afterwards in an NAS. Special attention was paid to the tube-power supply and the digital output signal, because this digital interface is significantly involved to achieve "analog-magic" sound properties in the external DAC to a large extent.
