MoveD
Item Condition: Very good Shipping Options: Shipping is available at agreed cost. Suburb or Town: Sydney State: New South Wales Payment Method: Bank Transfer Reason for selling: NLR Further information: 2 x Telefunken E88CC with a diamond symbol on the base (see picture 4). Made in Germany and considered one of the best. Tested very strong: Tube1 13500/14000 Tube2 14000/14000 where 11000 is NOS Tube 1 has 342 & 334 printed on top, first number 4 & 2 not clear. (See picture 3). Also what looks like x xxx02902y along the side, first few numbers worn off. (See picture 2) Tube 2 has 015 & 016 printed on top, what looks like 8 5205103h along the side. I don’t know what all these codes mean but someone with the expertise could help. If you don’t know already an E88CC, is the European designation for a 6922, and was made to be the industrial upgrade, to a ECC88. It is a higher spec'ed tube than the ECC88/6DJ8 ie; noise, microphonics, longevity, failure, higher voltages capabilities, to name a few. All these tubes are interchangeable. Bought from a trusted eBayer with 100% rating. Sold to me as NOS and paid a handsome amount and getting more and more expensive. Testing was done and provided by the eBay seller. I have put less than 30 hours on the tubes. Will post Express nationwide $12. Guest Benjet
B -> Factory code: “B” = Berlin, “U” = Ulm 9 -> Last digit of day 2 -> Tens digit of day 0 -> Tens digit of month (always zero or one) 6 -> Last digit of year (1958–1978), tens need to be guessed 9 -> Last digit of month 01 -> Internal series number D -> Internal batch number (may be missing) in your case, the "8" is probably a B for Berlin. Years look to be "0" and "5". but the codes don't suggest what decade (d'oh)! They are Telefunkens with the diamond base so that's a great start. Tests are very close for the pair. I wouldn't get hung up about years too much. These sound great in any 6922, 6DJ8 application, especially in the PS Audio BHK Preamp. Confirming Tube 1 was made XX/09/1962 and Tube 2 was made 25/01/1965 with both tubes made in the Berlin factory.

MoveD
If it helps, Steve Hoffman himself is a big fan of these tubes. It was after reading this here I decided to try these teles: https://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/date-codes-on-telefunken-12ax7-ecc83.144564/ There’s talks about fake teles and obviously these are the real thing. I can absolutely attest to the SQ! Edited October 20, 2020 by MoveD
