It is totally quiet, transparent and just sweeps you into the music. I cannot over-emphasise how quiet it is, more so than some much lauded solid-state amps that I've tried to unsuccessfully pair with some very low output MC cartridges (eg. Lyra SL variants, Gold Note Tuscany etc.) It very much allows the delicacy, dynamics and shimmer of these top flight cartridges to shine through.
